ROY INC is a musical performer, songwriter and visual presence whose career spans fashion, music, dance and underground culture.

 

Raised in Birmingham and later drawn into the creative energy of London’s club and fashion scenes, ROY INC developed a reputation as a striking and original figure at the intersection of performance, music and style. His work has taken him from legendary club nights and underground creative circles to collaborations with some of the most influential names in fashion, photography and music, which have featured on BBC 6 Music, BBC Sounds and radio stations globally.

 

Before emerging as a solo recording artist, ROY INC built a wide-ranging career as a dancer, model and performer. He appeared in major fashion publications including The Face, L’Uomo Vogue, iD and Dazed & Confused, worked with leading photographers such as David Bailey, Rankin, Then and Nick Knight, and also collaborated with designers including Vivienne Westwood, Thierry Mugler, Pam Hogg and Jean-Paul Gaultier.

 

Along the way, ROY INC became part of a generation of artists and performers who shaped the visual and cultural language of late-20th-century London nightlife and fashion.

 

Music, however, has always been at the centre of ROY INC’s creative identity. As he explains:

 

“Singing has always been part of my soul, my consciousness – something I always wanted to do. I was always writing poetry and lyrics. Modelling and dancing are all kinds of performance, so it was a natural progression to go into music.”  

 

After performing with bands including Recreation, Platinum and ThisIsWar, ROY INC continued to develop his songwriting voice before emerging as a solo artist whose music blends electronic textures, rock influences, house beats, dance rhythms and emotionally direct lyric writing.

 

ROY INC's debut album We Were Here, I’m Just Like You reflects this creative journey.

 

Combining dark, atmospheric electronic production with powerful vocals and poetic narratives, the record explores themes of identity, resilience and the emotional battles people navigate in everyday life. ROY INC describes the album as “a landscape of emotional wars we fight and live through on a daily basis.”  

 

Across his career, ROY INC has remained driven by creativity, individuality and the belief that art should express something real about human experience. Whether performing live, writing music, collaborating with other artists or exploring new creative forms, ROY INC continues to evolve, bringing together decades of cultural influence with a distinctive personal voice.

 

Today, ROY INC represents a space for music, visual storytelling and performance that reflects a lifetime immersed in art, culture and self-expression.
